Join long-term care infection prevention experts from AMS Infection Prevention Partners for an upcoming webinar, Navigating Infection Prevention and Control in a Post-COVID Vaccine World in LTC at 2 p.m. CT Friday, April 2, 2021. Hosted by the Missouri Health Care Association as part of its mid-year virtual conference, 1.5 hours of continuing education credits will be offered for attendance.
Most long-term care residents and staff have now been offered the Covid-19 vaccine and results are demonstrating tremendous success as long-term care Covid-19 cases are trending downward. However, “Now is the time to strengthen our infection prevention vigilance; not to ease up on it,” urges Heather Hutson, RN, IP-BC, AMS Chief Infection Control Officer.
In addition to how to strengthen infection prevention programs in your post-vaccine facility, the presentation will also educate on the following topics:

“We have been observing staff letting their guard down a bit too much,” said Hutson. “Additionally, some of our facilities are relaxing important protocols like screening visitors and we’re also seeing those ‘other’ infections, including influenza, re-emerge in some of our homes. We’ve seen a big sigh of relief from a hugely successful vaccination campaign – and now we need to get back to work to better protect ourselves and our seniors not just from COVID-19, but all infections.”
